CENTRO ITALIANO
Our school is located in the historic centre of Naples. There are 9 classrooms, a small library and a study room. It’s just a few blocks back from the waterfront and close to many cultural and artistic attractions. It prides itself on organising Italian language courses as well as a range of complementary cultural activities outside class. Through using only Italian in class, students are completely immersed in the language and encouraged to get a feel for the sounds, structures and contexts of the language. Students work individually, in pairs and in groups, drawing from a range of teaching material in order to develop each of the main linguistic skills. With its team of fully-qualified, native teachers, the school is keen to incorporate aspects of Italian culture into the student programme and once there you'll find plenty of extra-curricular activities to give you a taste of the real Naples.
NAPLES
Naples offers the visitor a unique opportunity to experience and fall in love with the 'real Italy'. The narrow streets of the old city, still following the original Greek layout, are a maze of cafes, pizzerias, artisans' shops, churches, piazzas, palaces and historic buildings of all ages. This is a city full of history, bustling with life, just waiting to be explored.
To be in Naples is to be a spectator, and the protagonist, of an endless and unpredictable theatrical performance. You won't necessarily have the script but that's ok - nobody else does either. You just need to let yourself fall into the organised chaos of the city, and soon the general mayhem will be as forgotten as those first awkward Italian words. As Italy's third city, Naples is loud, brash and exciting. It also enjoys the most wonderful setting on a bay looking out across the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. With the rising cone of Vesuvius to the east, Neapolitans shout and beep their way through the various quartieri, or districts, past ancient monuments, intricate buildings and hidden piazzas…and at the end of it all, they know how to serve what's considered to be the best pizza in Italy.
