 | The University's Intensive English Institute (IEI), established in 1967, has helped thousands of students improve their English language abilities. The goal of the IEI is to assist students in developing their English language proficiency as much as possible so that they can enroll in U.S. degree programs, improve their professional careers, and learn about American English and culture.
The IEI is part of the large, internationally-known University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). UIUC enrolls approximately 40,000 students each year and is among the top ten public schools in the U.S. It is located in Champaign-Urbana, a small but attractive and safe Midwestern city. Champaign-Urbana is about 200 km. south of Chicago, an exciting metropolitan city and tourist attraction.
All IEI faculty are professionals with graduate degrees in Teaching of English as a Second Language and years of experience in English teaching. Many have lived overseas and understand what it means to live in a foreign country for the first time.

• 15-week Fall semester (August to December)
