The Language Centre at the University of Leeds, one of the UK's top universities, offers British Council accredited English and academic preparation courses. We also provide IELTS preparation and courses for business and management postgraduates amongst other specialisations.

The Language Centre has over 35 years' experience providing year round high quality English language courses for academic and general purposes to international students.

ENGLISH & ACADEMIC PREPARATION - THE PATHWAY ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME offers English for pre-undergraduates leading to FOUNDATION YEAR. THE TARGET ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME offers English for undergraduates and graduates. Both PATHWAY and TARGET run throughout the academic year with a number of start dates. All these courses offer English language and academic preparation for University studies with the option to study for the IELTS exam.

ENGLISH PREPARATION FOR BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT POSTGRADUATES - 6-month, 3-month or 6-week. THE PRE-MASTERS ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT (PRE-MBA)LANGUAGE PROGRAMME offers English language preparation for postgraduate business and management programmes - MBA / MA / MSc.

OTHER ENGLISH AND ACADEMIC PREPARATION COURSES - THE INTERCOMM ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME offers English language preparation for students wishing to study Communications Studies and related fields, Translation Studies and related fields, Politics, Development Studies and related fields. This is the only course of its kind in the UK. The Language Centre can also arrange tailor-made courses such as VACATION COURSES for specific groups wishing to study English and British life and culture in the UK.

Students graduating from high-ranking Chinese universities may also be accepted onto the SPECIAL POSTGRADUATE ENTRY SCHEME and benefit from English and academic preparation in Shanghai and Leeds plus a 10% fee discount (up to a maximum of £1000) on their postgraduate programme.
