International House London is committed to a General English teaching programme that focuses on you, the learner. Courses have specific aims and it is therefore very important that you choose the right course for your own particular needs. Our approach is student-centred and communicative, which means that teachers will focus on your aims and interests to help you use English in an effective and practical way.

Course options

Our courses aim to improve the participants' general language skills and understanding of English. This will lead to increased confidence in speaking and communicating to others in a variety of social situations.

  • General English Standard Course
    This is our basic General English course integrating core language skills.

  • General English Standard Plus Course
    Students on this course benefit from an additional lesson in the afternoon which concentrates on skills development

  • Intensive General English Course
    This is the 15-hour Standard Course, plus the benefit of two specialised lessons every day. Students have a choice of afternoon options - Let's Talk or Study Skills.

  • English Evening Course - General English
    Our evening programmes of General English classes are designed for students who wish to improve their communicative ability whilst working full or part-time during the day.

  • English Evening Course - Business Correspondence
    This course is designed for professionals who are already at an intermediate English level. The focus will be on writing English in a business context, such as e-mails, letters, CVs and reports.

 

The location

Covent Garden has been London's theatre land for almost 400 years and as well as the Royal Opera House, the area's cobbled streets and the main piazza play host to street theatre and international shops, bars and restaurants. Such a cultural, gastronomic and entertaining location provides the ideal opportunities for students to learn the language outside the classroom.

The attractions of London include historic royal palaces, world-renowned museums, galleries of international reputation and much more. London boasts a varied and thriving social scene with thousands of pubs, bars, clubs, cinemas and venues. From film lovers to party animals, there's something for everyone.

Conveniently positioned within walking distance of the School are four tube stations; Tottenham Court Road Station, Holborn Station, Leicester Square Station and the nearest of which is Covent Garden Station.
