Language Center International
Language Center International is dedicated to providing students with quality language training for academic, professional or personal success and to promoting American cultural understanding in an atmosphere conducive to learning. Its primary instructional focus is English as a Second Language for adults ranging in age from 16-60+. Students may register for group classes or individual instruction. Individual instruction begins at any time throughout the year upon request. Group classes are held in 6 terms per year. Each term is seven weeks in length beginning in January, March, May, July, September and November. Class sizes are small (4-16) and emphasize interaction between students and instructors. Courses include reading, listening, grammar, speaking, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary building and test preparation. Beginning, intermediate and advanced levels are available. Classes are held mornings and afternoons Monday through Thursday. Students have the opportunity to study from a minimum of 4 hours per week up to a maximum of 36 hours. Students select their courses and class schedule upon completion of a placement examination. No minimum test score is needed for admission to LCI.
LCI administers its placement test free of charge. The institutional TOEFL is given at the end of each session. All registered LCI students are eligible to take the examination at no cost.
Student support services provide information on academic admission and transfer to US colleges and universities, health insurance, credential evaluations and translations of personal, academic or professional documents.
LCI is accredited by NCA-CITA (North Central Association-The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation) and follows the standards of this Commission.
