The Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners, located in the picturesque building of Collegium Maius (Language Department), was established in 1994. Each year we organize courses and individual classes of the Polish language which attract students from all over the world. Our offer is directed to: - foreigners living in Poland, temporarily or permanently (including the students of Erasmus international exchange program),
- foreigners wishing to study at a Polish university who need to learn the basics of Polish language,
- persons of Polish origin who wish to learn or perfectionate the language of their ancestors,
- students of Polish philologies abroad who would like to improve their language skills and learn more about Polish culture, literature, etc.,
- any others, interested in learning Polish.
We offer different kinds of courses, adjusted to individual needs of our participants: - semester courses (2 hours of Polish twice a week),
- 2- or 3-week summer courses (50 or 75 hours of Polish in July or September),
- one-year intensive course (800 hours of Polish, designed especially for those wishing to become students at a Polish university).
The courses are taught at different advancement levels by competent and experienced lectors who combine teaching Polish with academic work at Nicolaus Copernicus University. Our offer includes not only Polish classes but also an interesting cultural program which gives the students a chance to get to know the history, the culture and the tradition of Poland.
