| Millfield is a major English Public School and the Millfield English Language Holiday Courses are well established. We are a Trinity Examination Centre, accredited by the British Council, a member of English UK and were an ALPHE nominee for top High School in 2007. We offer 15 hours English Tuition in the mornings with highly motivated and qualified tutors appropriate to the age group. In the afternoons the Juniors (7-11 years) have Sports and Recreation (where they try a multitude of sports and activities) and the Seniors (12-16 years) have a choice, depending on the centre, between Preparation for UK Schools (an extra 8 hours of intensive or academic English), Sports and Recreation, Fine Arts, Performing Arts (including music & film), Etiquette or Academy Sports (Golf, Equestrian, Tennis, Swimming. Tetrathlon, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Badminton or Squash). These choices are for one week at a time and can be combined according to the centre chosen. We also include a full and exciting social programme and twice weekly excursions to places of cultural interest and fun. Accommodation is in our own boarding houses on the safe and beautiful campuses; Juniors at Millfield Preparatory School and Seniors at Millfield or Downside. All the campuses are in the rural county of Somerset in the southwest of the United Kingdom. There are two additional options available; the first is the option to take a Trinity Examination and the second (for the Senior age group only) is to visit London for a weekend to experience the Capital City of the United Kingdom. Millfield Senior School has been short listed as one of three possible locations for the Great Britain Olympic Team training venue prior to the 2012 Olympics and is the only school on the list. The Courses offer a really worthwhile, vibrant and stimulating experience which is seen by the students as a wonderfully exciting summer holiday.
