Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana 1 (CELI 1)
The Certification Unit of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia has developed The CELI examination system, which tests the knowledge of learners of Italian as a foreign language.
Structure
There are four components:
- Reading; understanding the underlining meaning of approximately 20 short written messages
- Writing; some fill in the blank questions and a guided composition of approximately 70 words
- Listening; understanding the underlining meaning of short messages related to everyday situations
- Speaking; a speech about yourself, important facts and situations
Results
Results are given in the form of pass or fail. The listening and speaking components each carry 30% of the total marks, reading 25% and writing 15%.
