Diplôme Supérieur d'Études Fançaises - 3ème degré
The Diplôme Supérieur d'Études Fançaises is intended for foreign students who either would like to study in France or wish to get a degree there. Developed by the Paris Sorbonne University, this exam can be taken in all authorised universities in France, by edict of the French education ministry.The Diplôme Supérieur d'Études Fançaises is the third of three certificates: (1st level: The Certificat Pratique de Langue Française, 2nd level: Diplôme de Langue et Littérature Françaises). Passing this exam proves the advanced ability of the student to master the French language. One should be able to know language nuances in detail and understand all oral forms of communication (radio, telephone, conferences etc.).

Written exams
- Summarising of a text
- Traslation: Into the mother tongue and into French.
- Writing of a text: Critique and discussion (about a literary work of the course programme)
- Discussion of a text
- Grammar
- French literary history
- Option literature: A text and a line of reasoning have to be written (the student gets to choose between two topics of a literary work).
- Translation into French: Translating a text out of the mother tongue of the student into French.
- Option literature, translation, European institutions, political institutions, history, art history or economy and population: The student has to write a text and a commentary to one of the topics. There is a choice of two topics at the exam.
The exam is failed, if the student reaches no points in one of the tests. At least 40/80 points have to be reached.
