Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz (DSD)
The DSD was established by the Conference of German cultural ministers (Kultusministerkonferenz) and is designed for high school students wishing to continmue their education at a higher education institution. It serves as proof of the student's proficiency in German as a foreign language.
Structure
Written part
- Listening comprehension; 7 points (25 minutes)
- Reading comprehension; 10 points (50 minutes)
- Grammar and vocabulary; 15 points (50 minutes)
- Written expression; 30 points (210 minutes)
Oral part
- 38 points (20minutes)
Results
Candidates can obtain a maximum of 100 points, 55 points for the written and 45 points for the oral section. The minimum number of points that has to be obtained in order to pass the exam is 50.
