Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf (ZdfB)

Examines the ability to communicate in writing and verbally in everyday professional situations. Due to the special adjustment this examination has a high acknowledgement in trade and industry. Presupposes approximately 100-120 lessons in professional German language. Native speakers of German are excluded from the examination, which is based on a cooperation between the Goethe Institut, the Austrian language diploma (OESD), the Swiss conference of directors of educating (EDK) and the WBT.

Structure

  • Reading comprehension (approx. 40 minutes)
  • Language structure; emphasis on vocabulary and grammar (appprox. 30 minutes)
  • Listening comprehension (approx. 30 minutes)
  • Correspondence (approx. 60 minutes)
  • Oral expression:
    Part 1: self-manifestation
    Part 2: comments on a graphic or a chart
    Part 3: business drop/game of roles
