Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges
Established in 1948, the Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges is part of the British Council. The Central Bureau is the UK national office for advice and information on educational visits and exchanges serving all those involved in education issues - pupils, students, teachers, lecturers, teacher trainers, education specialists and educational administrators. The main aims of the Central Bureau include the strengthening of modern foreign language learning and teaching, and the development of links with educational institutions outside the UK. In addition, the Central Bureau organises a wide range of programmes to promote international cooperation in education and acts as the UK national agency for various European Union education and training programmes.
