CELPE-Bras (Certificado de Proficincia em Lngua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros)
The CELPE-Bras was established by the Brazilian Ministério da Educação (MEC) in cooperation with the Ministério das Relações Exteriores (MRE). It is officially recognized by business and educational institutions. It also serves as an entry qualification for studying at a higher educational institution in Brazil. This language proficiency test is available at four levels and all of them have two sections:
Structure
Section 1 (two hours 30 minutes)
- Listening comprehension and writing
- Reading comprehension and writing
Section 2 (20 minutes)
- Speaking; a short talk on a topic chosen beforehand and an interview with the examiner on everyday topics
