Sfi-provet - The National Test of Swedish for Adult Immigrants
The Sfi-provet is a Swedish language proficiency test established by the Centre for Research on Bilingualism (Centrum för tvåspråkighetsforskning) at Stockholm University. It is authorized by the National Agency for Education and corresponds to level B1 of the Common European Framework.
Structure
The test consists of five parts:
- Speaking; candidates have to complete two tasks and are expected to participate in conversations on chosen topics
- Listening; candidates have to complete three tasks and discuss
- Writing; students are requested to write a letter of about 100-150 words and complete a short text
- Reading, lexis, structure; candidates have to read various types of texts and understand specific words, idioms and grammatical structures
- Social and cultural knowledge; candidates have to complete tasks connected to various aspects of Swedish society and culture
Results
All sections carry different percentage of the total grade:
Speaking: 32%
Writing: 16%
Listening: 14%
Reading , lexis, structure: 25%
Social and cultural knowledge 13 %
Scores from all tasks and parts are aggregated with a 'pass' at 70%
