Éischten Diplom Lëtzebuergesch als Friemsprooch (1DLaF)
This is an examination based on the Council of Europe's Threshold specification and was established by the Centre de Langues Luxembourg (CLL). It is endorsed by the Luxembourg Ministry of Education.
Structure
There are three components:
- Reading; understanding of authentic texts including short news items, bulletins, advertisements, social and associative messages and identifying the main points and relevant details of a text or scan for information in order to perform the tasks related to the text
- Writing; writing short texts in simple language
- Listening / Speaking; candidates are tested individually by two examiners. The test consists of three parts including oral interaction, listening comprehension and oral expression which are given equal weighting (33.3% of the total).
Results
There are only pass and fail grades. Each individual component is graded and certificates are awarded to all successful candidates.
