Certificat de nivell bàsic de català
The Certificat de nivell bàsic de català was established by the General Directorate of Linguistic Policy (DGPL) of the autonomous government of Catalonia. The examination is based on the Council of Europe's Waystage specification, which tests basic communication skills in everyday situations. Candidates wishing to take the exam must be at least 16 years of age. The level of difficulty corresponds to the Nivell bàsic level of the certificate Certificat internacional de català.
Structure
- Reading; candidates have to analyse the main ideas of short texts by completing four questions
- Listening comprehension; candidates listen to short recorded texts taken from the mass media and then complete several true/false and multiple-choice questions
- Oral expression; candidates must be able to express themselves by formulating questions and requests and participating in everyday conversations
- Communicative awareness; candidates must answer multiple-choice questions in response to everyday situations
Results
Students are awarded either a aprobado (pass) or suspenso (fail) grade.
