Guatemala
In general
For entering the country a valid international passport is needed.
A visa is required for all countries except for the following:
- EU nationals (except Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary and Cyprus), Australia, Canada, Japan and the US for three months of tourist visit
- Nationals of Andorra, Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Israel, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uruguay, Vatican City and Venezuela for a tourist visit of up to one month
Special requirements
Nationals of the following countries require a special permission accompanying their visa application:
- Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Bulgaria, China, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, Guyana, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Jordan, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kenya, Congo, Congo (Dem. Visa application
In order to apply for a visa for Guatemala one has to submit the following documents:
- A valid international passport and a photocopy of the passport
- Two recent passport photos
- Two application forms
- Hotel reservation
- Visa fee in cash or by post order
- A travel insurance
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the duration of stay
Please note
Registration: All the visitors who want to stay longer than 30 days have to register in the office of the Travel Public Authority. A visa extension for 30 days is possible on request.
Children: The official ID card for children (with no passport photo up to 10 years old and with photo attached for children up to 16) is a sufficient document for entering the country. A passport for children is always recommended.
