The foundations for the Internet-Course-Finder were laid some 20 years ago:
The INTERNATIONAL WHERE + HOW publishing house was the first to release a World Language Learning Guidebook in 1985. As an innovative forerunner, it continued to publish a number of guidebooks (e.g. "The international Who´s Who in Distance Learning") focusing on the topic of international education and language learning. By doing so, INTERNATIONAL WHERE + HOW was able to offer valuable information which made the integration of the most diverse students / learners and training courses possible.
Prior to the advent of the Internet WHERE + HOW was represented in different BTX and Minitel information catalogues. These two online providers offered services through telephone networks. A special decoder enabled these companies to upload texts and information as well as to send messages in a way similar to today's World Wide Web.
Three sister companies – ICWE, ICEFand ICF AG– finally evolved from INTERNATIONAL WHERE + HOW.
ICWE is a specialist in the fields of E-learning, higher education, language training and study abroad programmes with years of varied experience in organising a range of international conferences and exhibitions. The biggest international conference for E-learning "Online Educa Berlin" as well as "Expolingua" an international conference for languages and cultures are part of ICWE's events.
ICEF has been organising conferences, seminars, exhibitions, workshops and other events, all exclusively related to education, in over 30 locations worldwide since 1991. ICEF WORKSHOPS bring together education providers from throughout the world and from all sectors of education and training with the aim of establishing business arrangements between them and to recruit students in the agents' respective countries. The advent of Internet was an important turning point in the history of our partner companies and opened up the ideal possibility of launching the first global education web portal - "Internet Course Finders". Established in the late 1990's, ICF AG was the first company ever to offer an online database with thousands of courses in 150 countries worldwide.
