The school

We create an interactive and dynamic learning environment with 9 classrooms, high-tech audio-visual and computer-learning equipments.

We emphasise the "communicative approach" to French.

Whether it is points of grammar, vocabulary or idioms the student is always encouraged to participate.

In this context the teachers play an essential role and we consider that their competence must go hand in hand with their human qualities. All our teachers are native French speakers with higher education qualifications. They have undergone additional training in "French as a foreign Language" and regularly take part in international training courses on new teaching methods organised by the International House network.

 

Studying French in Nice

There are different French language courses at International House all year round.

  • Group courses intensive general French courses.
  • D.E.L.F./D.A.L.F. Preparation for examinations of the DELF/DALF.
  • JU20 Group courses for teenagers.
  • SR20 Group course for seniors.
  • BUS20 French Business language course.
  • Individual courses Intensive individual courses.
  • Combined courses intensive combined group and individual courses.
  • HOM20 Lessons in the teacher's home.
  • WE Work experience.


Number of students: 10 maximum (15 maximum for teenagers) per class.

Classes: take place from Mondays to Fridays except on bank holidays.

One lesson: 45 minutes.

Length of courses: from 2 to 36 weeks one week minimum for individual and combined courses from 2 to 8 weeks for Teenage summer programe.

 

Accomodation

95 % of our students choose accommodation in a hostfamily. It is indeed the option allowing total immersion in the French lifestyle.

For those who prefer to be totally independent, we can provide them with fully furnished and equipped studios.

In Nice, hotel accommodation is an art. Depending on your tastes and budget, we can offer you a choice of 2,3 or 4 star hotels close to the school.

You can choose to stay in a residential hotel. This type of accommodation offers all the facilities of a classic hotel but rooms are equipped with kitchenettes.
