MADRID At 646 m, Madrid is one of the highest as well as largest cities in Europe. Constant bright clear blue skies give rise to the Spanish saying, "De Madrid al cielo" (Madrid is the next best thing to heaven). Madrid is a city of romance and culture: the historic Plaza Mayor, considered to be one of the finest in Spain, is surrounded by 17th-century architecture. The Prado Museum is one of the world's finest art galleries, offers a vast collection of Spanish, Flemish, and other European paintings. Nearby are the Reina Sofà Art Centre, which features Picasso's Guernica and other modern works, and the von Thyssen offering what is considered to be the world’s finest private collection of art. Madrid’s parks are also outstanding, and its restaurants allow you to sample the best cuisine from all over Spain, as well as elsewhere. AVAILABLE COURSES
