THE INSTITUTE
DIE NEUE SCHULE, founded in 1984, is one of the largest and well-known language schools in Berlin. We are situated in the city centre, in a quiet residential area near two underground stations and on several bus routes. A comfortable walk takes you to Kurfürstendamm and its side streets, with numerous cafés, galleries and flamboyant boutiques.

THE PROGRAMMES
We offer various types of German classes in small groups and at 12 different levels all through the year. For students with previous knowledge of German, there is an evaluation test at the beginning of every course and students receive a leaving certificate at end of the course. There are special DSH and TestDaF-preparation courses available.

TEACHERS
There are around 85 teachers, both male and female, who work for DIE NEUE SCHULE, each with a university degree and extensive experience in individual and group teaching.

METHODOLOGY
The method of teaching is communicative and based on the simple premise that language comes from speaking. Role-play and intensive conversation training are therefore an integral part of every course.

ACCOMMODATION
A carefully selected host family can be the ideal complement to your language course. DIE NEUE SCHULE will gladly arrange both for accommodation in guest families and for private single rooms and apartments. All types of accommodation can be reached between five and 30 minutes from the school.

EXAMINATIONS
DIE NEUE SCHULE is an acknowledged examination centre. Recognised examinations (B1, B2, C1, C 2) may be taken every month throughout the year. In cooperation with a Berlin university we offer TestDaF-exams for our students as well.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
Berlin offers a wide spectrum of both cultural and leisure activities. The language school regularly puts together a list of options for language learners and organises weekend-excursions to places outside Berlin.

As a language student of DIE NEUE SCHULE you will also receive discounts on public transportation (subway, bus, S-Bahn), as well as a student ID card, good for discounts on theatre and museum tickets.
