INFORMATION ABOUT INTERNATIONAL COURSES DEPARTMENT
International Courses of Santiago de Compostela University, has been organizing for more than sixty years Spanish language courses for foreign students, aimed at anybody who wishes to learn and perfect the Spanish language, while experiencing our culture at first hand. This wide experience, as well as the prestige of the University of Santiago de Compostela and its professors, guarantee the greatest possibilities of learning the language. MAIN PRODUCTSUSC offers all year round Spanish courses for foreigners, with different structure, length and contents, so that students can choose the one that suits best to their needs. In summer, Spanish Language and Culture Courses take place in June, July, August and September. The program consists of a daily schedule of three hours of Spanish language classes and and hour of Spanish culture seminars. The University also celebrates a fifteen-weeks Spanish and Culture course From January to May and and a nineteen-weeks course from September to December. From January to May, the University of Santiago de Compostela also celebrates an academic term for university students according to the aims and interest of the university the students come from. This program includes Spanish language, History of Art, Literature and the Pilgrims's Road to Santiago. We will also organize EFE Courses, Spanish Language courses for Specific Purposes such as Course on Spanish Language and the Road to Santiago, Spanish language and Business, Spanish language and Tourism, Spanish language and Gastronomy and Spanish language and International Relations. SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA Santiago is a historical city, declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO in 1985, which throughout the centuries has received many pilgrims who have come to the tomb of the Apostle St. James, following the Pilgrim's Way. Students quickly adapt to this small university town with its lively nightlife. This atmosphere of friendship and entertainment continues throughout the summer, with the arrival of pilgrims, tourists and visitors. The city's particular geographical situation combined with an excellent network of communications mean that visitors can easily travel to areas of outstanding natural, historical or cultural beauty. Our coastline abounds with memorable beaches and fishing villages, while the interior offers a wide variety of mountainous landscapes. It is also possible to visit neighbouring Portugal, or other Spanish or European cities as our international airport offers a large number of international flights that connect our city in a few hours with the majority of European capitals. |
