Structure
There are three components:
- Reading; understanding of authentic texts drawn from social, professional and cultural life and orally answering questions based on the text content
- Writing; writing a report on a recorded discussion, a summary of a 300-400 word text and an answer to a personal or formal letter
- Listening / Speaking; candidates are tested individually by two examiners. The test consists of three parts including oral interaction, listening comprehension and oral expression which are given equal weighting (33.3% of the total).
Results
There are only pass and fail grades. Each individual component is graded and certificates are awarded to all successful candidates.
